All aboard the Lorain & West Virginia Railway! Wine on Rails was the first big event of the operating season. Next weekend we are off to the Age of Steam Roundhouse for a tour. Tickets are still available!

For those unfamiliar with the Lorain & West Virginia Railway it’s a little railroad with a long history. Basically it is a former 27 mile long branch line of the original Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway between Wellington and Lorain, OH but was operated as a separate company hence the funny name. Today 20 miles of track are owned by the Lake Shore Railway Association who currently operates 6 miles of the line. Our ultimate goal is to get all 20 back in action along with steam locomotive Nickel Plate Road 384. Plans are in the works which could see all of this happen within a few years time. I encourage anyone who wants to get involved to become a member today at www.lsra.org.

Meanwhile enjoy the photos!
